Niken Hertanto

Creative Director

Niken graduated as a Materials Science & Engineer B.S. at UC Riverside and a current graduate student at UCSC's Games And Playable. She makes the creative decisions in the game, as well as draw much of the artwork using Photoshop. She loves nothing more than to draw fanart of her favorite characters and attend anime conventions all dressed up!

Inkan Hertanto

Producer

 

Inkan is a UCSD Cognitive Science HCI graduate as well as a currecnt student at UCSC's Games And Playable M.S. She does a bit of everything for Journey Through Memories, whether it is communication, programming, or art. Inkan will religiously advocate that Espeon is the best Pokemon ever.

Eric (Runze) Guo

Technical Director

​

Eric (Runze) Guo is a gameplay programmer with a BS in Computer Science from University of Toledo. As technical director, he created several features in speech recognition system using Cortana, includes voice input, pitch recognition, voice feedback and keyword management. He also created most of the particle systems in Journey Through Memories. 
Nier: Automata is the best game in the world.

Patrick Kagel 

Co-Technical Director

Patrick Kagel is a programmer and designer with a Bachelors in Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and an Associates of Science in Computer Science from Foothill College. He contributes to the puzzle and level design of the game, and is also in charge of audio direction. He's handy with a bit of code as well.

Juan Rosales

Development Director

Juan Rosales is a game engine programmer with a BS in Computer Science: Computer Game Design from UC Santa Cruz. As development director, he conducts the team's meetings, assigns tasks and keeps track of every member's progress. He also programs various spells, puzzles, and interactions found within Journey Through Memories. In his spare time, Juan is an active member of the competitive Super Smash Bros community where he competes with and mentors fellow competitors.

Jairus Cambe

Sound Designer/Composer

​

Jairus Cambe is a sound designer as well as a film and video game scorer who has composed for video games and film trailers. He is an undergraduate at San Francisco State University studying Audio Production and Music Recording in the BECA Program. He is currently an Audio Lead for the video game ForzeBreak and assistant composer for Journey through Memories. Other hobbies include graphic design, video editing, and maintaining his YouTube Music Channel.

Andrew Vigil

Sound Design Lead

​

Andrew is a Composer and Audio designer currently working towards his Bacholers of Music degree with an emphasis in composition and a focus of scoring for Visual Media at SFSU. Andrew has worked in Live and Recorded Audio for 11 years, and left his position as Head of Audio/Visual Technology at a performance space in his home town to pursue this education. Andrew is the Audio Lead for Journey Through Memories, and First Fantasy Wars MK. II, he has also ghost written and designed for other games. Andrew is also composing and audio designing for films, podcasts and forms of media.

Mark Jang

Sound Designer/Composer

Mark is a composer finishing his Bachelors of Music at San Francisco State University. He is one of the featured composers on the Journey Through Memories soundtrack. Some of his biggest influences that inspired him to compose for games include: EarthBound, Nier: Automata, and Pokemon Ruby.

Forrest Balman

Sound Designer/Composer

 

BM in Composition. Emphasis in music for linear and non-linear media. Actively gigging jazz guitarist. Enjoys graphic and experimental composition, tabletop RPGs, and teaching music. Enjoys aRPGs like Path of Exile, and MOBAs such as Heroes of the Storm

Ken Lila Ashanti

Sound Designer/Composer

 

Ken Lila Ashanti (composer) is a professional violinist , a composer and a conductor. She obtained a master of music performance degree at La Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne, Switzerland and a second master with distinction in violin pedagogy in Hochschule der Künste in Bern, Switzerland. During her musical journey in Europe, she has won many competitions such as International Music Competition Leopold Bellan (Paris, 2011) and International Music Competition Vittoria Caffa Rigetti (Italy, 2012). Ken Lila Ashanti is actively performing in solo, chamber music and orchestral concerts. Her repertoire ranges from the baroque period to the contemporary. Besides performing, she dedicates equally her passion to pedagogic activities.

Cristina Zuniga

Story Artist/Animator

 

Cristina Zuniga is a story artist and animator as well as a current student at CSUF's Entertainment Art/Animation program. She contributes to animating various spells and laying out the backgrounds for cutscenes throughout the game. In her spare time, she loves to sketch people at cafes and plays various video games ranging from the Dragon Age franchise to Pokemon Sun & Moon.

Vina Kong

Animation/Illustration

 

Vina is an Animation/Illustration student at San Jose State University. She animated some of the spell and helped out on some of the cutscenes for Journey Through Memories. Her favorite types of games are of puzzle and mysteries genre. She hopes to one day do visual development for films and freelance editorial illustrations in the future.

Emily Im

Background Artist

 

Emily Im is a background artist with a BS in Computer Science from UCLA. She painted many of the building and scenery assets in the game.

Sierra is an animation undergrad studying at CSUF, and one of the artists for Journey through Memories. An avid player of SRPGs like Fire Emblem and farming sims like Stardew Valley.
